What I measure.

I keep an eye on how people use my sites, so I can make them better and see which of my efforts actually reach anyone. Here is what that involves, in plain English. The short version: I look at how the pages are used, not at who you are.

What I collect

When you visit amitbhalla.co.in, or the app, tour and overview pages that sit alongside it, a small script I wrote notes how the visit goes: the pages you open, the links and buttons you click, how far you scroll, which sections you spend time on, whether you play, pause or finish a video, and how you move through a form.

It also records the kind of browser and device you’re using, your screen size, language and time zone, the page that sent you here, and any campaign tags in the link you followed (for example, if you came from one of my ads). It keeps an eye on page speed and on anything that breaks, so I can fix it.

Location and IP

My server uses your IP address to work out roughly where you are, at the level of city and country, and then lets the address go. I don’t store IP addresses.

When you write to me

While you’re filling in a form, the script only notices which fields you’ve used, never what you type. When you send a message, I keep your name, email, company, the topic you picked and the message itself, so I can reply and follow up. I also link the enquiry to your visit, so I can see which pages were useful before you got in touch. Your message goes to my inbox and a private spreadsheet, and nowhere else.

Cookies

My script sets four small cookies. They hold random IDs and campaign tags, nothing with your name on it, and they’re shared across amitbhalla.co.in and its subdomains, so a visit that moves from this site to the app counts as one visit.

  • ab_vidA random ID that recognises your browser when you come back. It lasts about 13 months.
  • ab_sidGroups the pages of one visit together. It expires after 30 minutes without activity.
  • ab_ftRemembers how you first found my sites: the site that sent you and any campaign tags. It lasts about 13 months.
  • ab_ltRemembers how you arrived for the current visit. It expires with the visit, after 30 minutes.

Google Analytics

Most pages also carry a Google Analytics tag. Google sets its own cookies and handles that data under its own privacy policy. If you’d like to switch that off too, Google offers a browser add-on for it.

If I emailed you

I sometimes write to marketing and business leaders about my consulting work or about leadership roles. I find work contact details in business directories, and I only use your name, work email, job title and company details to write to you personally.

Every email I send has an unsubscribe link. If you use it, or simply reply and ask me to stop, I add your address to a do-not-contact list and won’t write again. If you’d like me to delete your details altogether, email amit9815@gmail.com.

Gmail and Google data

My email tool, Outreach (outreach.amitbhalla.co.in), connects only to my own Gmail accounts, with my permission, using Google’s official sign-in. It is a personal tool and nobody else can sign in to it.

It asks Google for two things: permission to send email on my behalf, and permission to read my mailbox so it can notice when someone replies, when a message bounces or when someone asks to unsubscribe, and stop writing to them. It also reads the email address of the connected account, to know which mailbox is which.

From Gmail it keeps only what it needs to run my campaigns: message and thread IDs, the date of a reply, a short snippet of each reply to the emails it sent, and whether a message bounced. The sign-in tokens are stored encrypted on my own server. Reply snippets may be passed to Anthropic’s Claude service, only to sort them into categories such as “interested” or “out of office”; they aren’t used to train models.

I don’t sell Google user data, use it for advertising, share it with anyone else, or let people read it except where needed for security or to comply with the law. Outreach’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

I can disconnect a Gmail account at any time, which deletes its stored tokens; access can also be removed from Google account permissions.

What I don’t do

I don’t sell or share this data, I don’t build advertising profiles from it, and I don’t follow you around other websites.

Opting out

If you’d rather not be measured at all, opt out here. That sets a cookie telling my script to send nothing from this browser, on any of my sites.

A Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control setting in your browser doesn’t switch this off by itself, so please use the link above if you’d like to be left out.

Questions

If you’d like to know what I hold about you, or you’d like it deleted, email me at amit9815@gmail.com and I’ll take care of it.
